I enjoyed it so much after borrowing from the library and reading it that I had to have a copy for myself. Vroom does have some valid criticism of Herzberg's conclusions regarding hygiene versus motivation and the two-factor theory, but some is unfounded and even in err. But, in general, this is an outstanding treatment onWhy do people choose the careers they do? What factors cause people to be satisfied with their work? No single work did more to make concepts like motive, goal incentive, and attitude part of the workplace vocabulary.
