Over the past few years, I've taken up great interest in martial arts. I've read The Book of 5 Rings, The 20 Guiding Principles of Karate, and Striking Thoughts before I picked up this book. So far, this one has been the hardest to read. There are a few gems in here that not only apply to those studying martial arts, but to everyday life , in genA Collection of Thoughts, Sayings and Meditations on the Way of the Samurai "It is said that what is called "the spirit of an age" is something to which one cannot return. That this spirit gradually dissipates is due to the world's coming to an end. For this reason, although one would like to change today's world back to the spirit of one hundred years or more ago, it cannot be done.
